20 things to do and see in Austin and Central Texas

Since we had so many visitors in the month of May (Teresa, Igor and Albina), and hopefully will get a lot more in the next year, I decided to list few must-see /do things in the Austin and surrounding areas.

1. San Antonio - The Alamo and the Riverwalk
2. Schlitterbahn in New Braunfels - the biggest water park in the U.S.
3. San Antonio Zoo.
4. The Capitol
5. The UT - make sure to go up the tower to enjoy the city view.
6. The 6th street at night - make sure to visit the Driskill hotel
7. Esther Follies - depending on the show, the tickets are $24
8. Bats at dusk - go on the Congress bridge or The Batio at TGIF (May through October)
9. Zilker Park - has miles of trails, kids play area, kids train, etc.
10. Barton Springs Pool - a natural pool which is 68F all year round
11. Town Lake
12. Zilker Botanical Garden
13. The Oasis - a Tex-Mex restaurant on top of the mountain overlooking Lake Travis.
14. Mt.Bonnell - Beautiful view of the city and surrounding areas.
15. The 360 bridge - nice drive in the Texas Hill Country.
16. Circuit of the Americas - right by the airport - freshly built race track for the Nov.2012 Formula 1
17. The Domain - nice outdoor mall area to spend a Saturday at.
18. San Marcos Outlets - excellent shopping for the addicted and frugal shoppers :)
19. Natural Bridge Caverns - an underground city - sounds kind of claustrophobic to me :(
20. BBQ!! Must try Rudy's, The Salt Lick & The County Line.
