August updates: "So how was your school today?"

So, last week Olivia has started a Montessori school which is 6 minutes away from our house. Their idea of teaching is that every child learns at his/her own pace, and they have mixed age classes, so that the younger ones can learn from the older kids. Not sure how I feel about it. Time will show.

So, every day as I pick Olivia up from school, I want to know all the details of her day. Since she just started, and she started full-time, by the time I pick her up she is way too tired. So I decided to ask about 3 favorite things at school. I get her thinking about them when she is leaving in the morning to go to school.

I also just ran into an article where Mom wants to know how her kids' day went, and instead of asking the usual "So how was your school today?", she came up with 25 questions, and I cut them down to 22. Here they are:

1. What was the best/ worst thing that happened at school today?
2. Tell me something that made you laugh today.
3. If you choose, who would you like/ not like to sit by in class?
4. Where is the coolest place at school?
5. Tell me a weird word that you heard today (or something weird that someone said).
6. If I called your teacher tonight, what would she tell me about you?
7. How did you help somebody today?
8. How did somebody help you today?
9. Tell me one thing that you learned today.
10. When were you the happiest today?
11. When were you bored today?
12. If an alien spaceship came to your class and beamed someone up, who would you want them to take?
13. Who would you like to play with at recess that you've never played with before?
14. Tell me something good that happened today.
15. What do you think you should do/ learn more/ less of at school?
16. Who in your class do you think you could be nicer to?
17. Where do you play the most at recess?
18. Who is the funniest person in your class? Why?
19. What was your favorite part of lunch?
20. If you got to be the teacher tomorrow, what would you do?
21. Is there anyone in your class who needs a time-out?
22. If you could switch seats with anyone in the class, who would you trade with? Why?
